Direct cremation is a simple, dignified option in which your loved one is cremated without a funeral service or ceremony.
Sometimes known as an unattended cremation, by removing the service, the family of the deceased or those responsible for arrangements can make substantial savings of between £2000 and £6000 compared to traditional funeral costs.
Aside from the obvious savings, direct cremation offers you more flexibility, allowing you to pay a fair price for the services that are needed, whilst avoiding the costs for services that you feel are not appropriate for you.
Our Contemporary option gives you the freedom to choose a cremation with memorial service at any crematorium in England, Scotland or Wales.
This option provides a memorial service for friends, family and loved ones to attend at the chosen crematoria. Cremation memorial services are typically 30 minutes at most crematoria.
You’re free to have the service at a time of your choosing, subject to availability and we will be happy to discuss these arrangements with you.
Our traditional package is designed to reflect these preferences but at a significantly lower cost.
The availability to include additional services helps make the overall funeral more personal and deals with all the main practical elements.
As a flexible package it also ensures that you have the freedom to only include elements that you specifically require. You can elect to add at a further cost, a range of additional services that ensures the funeral is then truly bespoke to your individual requirements.

“Memoria has a mission to provide exceptional standards of service and facility to the bereaved families that use its crematoria and gardens of remembrance. This is because it is not only commercially sensible to do so but also because it is an essential act of human decency towards people who have just lost a much-loved member of their family or friend.
Bereavement is the price we must all pay for the joy of loving and being loved. The loss of a loved one is the most stressful, unhappy and traumatic experience that we will face in life. We at Memoria realise that we are unable to eradicate such pain but we also know it is our responsibility and duty to be as efficient, kind, respectful and polite as humanly possible to our clients at their time of grief, and thereafter when they return to remember their cherished relatives or friends.
Therefore it is our aim to provide immaculately clean and tidy facilities in tranquil and beautiful surroundings attended by people who are sincerely dedicated to our mission, and who take a great pride in their work as a result.”
