Alzheimer’s Research UK
Memoria celebrated the launch of its new charity partnership with the UK’s leading dementia research charity, Alzheimer’s Research UK in november 2022.
To kick-start their partnership with Alzheimer’s Research UK, Memoria donated over £100,000 to help fund the charity’s groundbreaking dementia research which seeks to make breakthroughs in the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure of this terrible condition.
Almost one million people in the UK are living with dementia, and over half of people in the UK know someone affected by the condition. Dementia is caused by physical diseases, and diseases can be cured. By supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK, Memoria hopes that it can increase awareness of dementia and help accelerate the charity’s efforts in finding a cure.
Child Bereavement UK
Explaining to children what happens at a funeral and cremation can be difficult, especially when you as an adult are also dealing with the profound feelings of grief that surface when you lose someone close to you.
In support of one of our Memoria Group nominated charities, Child Bereavement UK, Memoria funded this short animated video explaining to children what happens during and after a cremation service.
The video has been created to support families and helps children prepare for what to expect during a cremation or funeral service – helping them feel supported and safe during a challenging time in their lives.
Macmillan Cancer Support
Memoria has donated over £340,000 to help Macmillan support families affected by Cancer. Here Macmillan’s Nicola Keith and Kate Lightfoot express Macmillan’s gratitude.
