FCA Application Update

Our Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) application has been submitted under our funeral planning legal entity, Low Cost Funeral Ltd T/A Affordable Funerals. This is our side of the business which sells and arranges funeral plans. This application was submitted on 29th October 2021. Since our application has been submitted, we have been in regular dialogue with the FCA. Our application status of ‘Application submitted’ can also be found on the FCAs website.


In regards to ensuring money from clients is protected, our funeral plan funds are invested with Scottish Friendly, who are authorised and regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority. Details can be found on the Financial Services Register – Registration No. 110002. Member of ABI and AFM.

This ensures we meet the requirement of the Funeral Plan Conduct of business ‘FPCOB 3.1.6 – Arrangements underpinning funeral plan contracts’. Link for this section of the FCA handbook below for reference –
